If I must choose..… it would be Autumn. I think the safe answer is recognizing some value in each of the seasons, but I do really enjoy the transition from Summer to Fall. Those early fall days when the first cold snap comes through, are a pleasant respite from the oppression of the sun. Early summer is great, full of excitement and energy; but come late summer, I want a break. I also tend to be reflective in the fall. In Winter, I am thinking about the new year, the new spring, the new project. In Autumn, I slow down and go on walks again. I reflect on the blazing days of summer and prepare for those cold long winter nights. Although, I enjoy the different seasons for their change and challenge, Autumn feels like a call from the other side. A cool down in which I still have a sunkist glow yet need a sweatshirt. A bittersweet reminder. A time to reap what we sow.
